Enjoying his solo dance, possibly at dusk, the hare’s favourite time of day for frolicking, is this hare suffering from March Madness or just enjoying celebrating the coming of summer? Surrounded in mystery, possibly because they are such shy creatures, the sight of hares at play will always captivate.

These bewitching, entrancing creatures have captured the imagination of cultures worldwide, being associated with luck, long life and fertility. The hare's magical qualities are often associated with the moon and spring -- everyone has heard the phrase, "Mad as a March hare".

Here, our sculptures represent all of the qualities closest associated with the animal: its speed - up to 40k an hour; its moon gazing - its shadowy pattern believed to be hare-shaped; and its dancing, boxing spring ritual - wrongly thought to be males vying for a female's attention - the boxers are actually male and female - the lady quite firmly letting the male know that she is not quite ready for his amorous approach! The brass depictions of these elusive night-time creatures will entrance as much as the myths that surround them.
